Learn the Martial Art that’s in the Olympics and at Major Universities
Our martial arts school follows the World Taekwondo (WT) system–the biggest martial arts system in the world. Further, instructors draw on their training in Karate, Jiu Jitsu, Tang Soo Do, and Hapkido to offer a well-rounded curriculum.
Students may begin practicing Taekwondo at any age–and enjoy the benefits at every age.
Many students who learn Taekwondo as children join high school and college Taekwondo teams and clubs. Thus, their martial art provides them with opportunities for maintaining physical and mental health, and for developing life-long friendships. (Fun fact: Akula Taekwondo is the home of Northville High School’s Taekwondo Club founded by our one of our instructors, Mr. Jasper Chu.)
Through martial arts training, students cultivate discipline, focus, and respect. Thus, Akula Taekwondo’s martial artists develop foundational skills for success in life.
At our martial arts school, instructors help students master the whole self by instilling values handed down from teacher to student for generations. Whether you’ve been searching specifically for Taekwondo, or you’re exploring martial arts such as karate, jiu jitsu, or tang soo do, we invite you to come in and see if Akula Taekwondo is right for you. We offer martial arts classes for young children (ages 5-6), kids and teens (ages 7-15), and adults. (Teens aged 16 and up are welcome in our adult classes.)
Real Martial Arts: We Practice What We Teach
We are committed to our students. Taekwondo is a fun activity for kids, teens, and adults. We offer a stable, family-oriented environment. Further, we support our students in achieving personal goals, both on and off the mat. Thus, the martial arts skills and values we teach build a strong foundation for success in school, work, and life.
The practice of martial arts demands respecting others, encouraging and supporting fellow-students, and celebrating peers’ successes. Our diverse student body shares healthy habits and attitudes. As a result, we grow together as individuals and a community.
Most of our students come to us from Novi, South Lyon, New Hudson, Farmington Hills, Northville, and Wixom Michigan. We invite prospective students to sign up for an Introductory Lesson. During the Introductory Lesson, you will meet our Head Instructor, learn a few basic moves, and learn all about our martial arts programs. We also leave time to answer all of your questions.
